Hi, welcome to Soundboard Prank Calls Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Police page.

If you need help, and there are no local admins here, you may want to visit the forums on the Community Central Wiki -- Uberfuzzy<staff /> (Talk) 05:58, 2010 April 2

I see articles have been written in part in a manner fit for Encyclopedia Dramatica, or by someone who has no grasp of the English language.

I think that it may be time to set article guidelines delineating style of writing and information therein (akin to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, or what have you), seeing as this site is now beginning to grow.

Thanks. The Wikipedian 14:58, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hi again. I've got a slightly unusual request for you: I reuploaded some classic prank calls to my YouTube channel a while back, including the infamous "Rick Calls Frank" videos, where Duncan first acknowledges a soundboard and the Burton Street mayhem. Seeing as my hands are full with various projects planned, here and elsewhere, I was hoping you could transcribe them. Plus, I'm certain you could do a better job than I, and shed more insight into them. Here's the links:
Part One
Part Two
And, if you have the chance, Epic's June 2010 call to Jackass Plumber I wrote about.
For the sake of distinguishing it from other "Jackass Plumber Calls Himself Again" videos, add (EVC) to the title as a disambiguation tag. Take it from a seasoned Wikipedia editor who knows the system and methodology pretty well. Thanks. The Wikipedian 03:22, August 30, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry if the mayhem last night caused you any inconvenience. Some kid who apparently has some kind of resentment against the community, decided to try and wipe all the articles. Luckily, reverting edits is a pretty rudimentary task for me. Strangely, though, I began thinking of Wikipedia's Three Revert Rule. Not that it's of such importance. Either way, I managed to undo everything, and probably scared him off when I told him I knew he was in Ashland Oregon. That's the biggest downside to not having a registered nick to edit with. I'm gonna talk to Chugboat about making me an admin so that there's a bit more oversight and authority around here so that this sort of debacle doesn't happen anymore, and whatever else.

One more thing: What possessed you to turn the article on Bob into what it is starting in June, I think? Much of it is atrocious. "Finger-fucking?" Really? And given that the man is dead, I think you really need to redo a lot of the article, and write it from a more neutral and encyclopedic tone. Any wiki on Wikia, big or small, has content guidelines to adhere to. Even Uncyclopedia has their own guidelines. Just bringing that up. Anyhow, I'll be in touch with you over any helpful ideas I have, and I'll happily teach you a thing or two about wiki editing. The Wikipedian 22:01, October 4, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Re: Bob Chandler[edit]

It was never a question of factual accuracy. It's just about the nature of the content itself. Beyond just the whole relevancy aspect of it, there's just how appropriate it is. Mind you, the biographical information on any prank call victim really should be limited to how it pertains to their prank calling history and the perhaps the community at large. Much of what's in there might pass for some kind of biography elsewhere, like the CWCWiki, but the primary foci of this wiki are: soundboards; victims; prank calls; and how they all tie together. It can be easy to get carried away when the chance arises, especially when there isn't much oversight. And besides, people don't really care much for that type of info on here. I recommend saving to a word document the more relevant aspects of the article, as they pertain to the nature of this wiki, and I'll revert it back to an early draft of it. From there, you can build on his actual prank call history and his behavioral info that is relevant, such as some insight into his racist background and such. You can always provide an external link at the bottom to the CWCWiki article on him, for those interested in the full scoop.

Btw, what happened to the info on SR's prank call history? And, also, I've considered the idea of making a separate article for Duncan's complete prank call history, so it could really be touched on in greater detail. Keep in mind, there are many people who are relative novices, and they are the ones who really gain the most from this wiki. The Wikipedian 20:16, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

Now that I think about it, Bladez, on his personal MySpace (Kyle McCormick's his name, ask him for links) had a video he put together of many of the calls to SR, up to when he was called with Rick. As for the more recent calls to him, they're floating around YouTube still. You should see the one RQKAI made recently. He got his old voice back, then made some rather strange noises at the end. Message from admin[edit]

Hi PhonePirate,

I haven't properly been on this wiki for quite a long time. Thanks for all the work you've done on here, it's really starting to look like a proper encyclopedia.

I've recently uploaded a picture on the front page that I think suits it nicely, it's similar to the group photo from

As the root admin is there anything I can do to help you improve this wiki? Do you have or need access to the admin section?

Let me know if I can help.

Chugboat 11:29, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Walsh etc[edit]

I have just read the requests you refer to and am sad to hear about what's happened. I've never heard those calls but it sounds like they've gone too far and are causing harm to good people. Hopefully deleting the articles for the time being will help. I downloaded all three before deleting them, so they can potentially be restored when you think it's safe to do so.

Chugboat 14:06, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Good sir.[edit]

I'm assuming you've been editing quite a bit without being logged in. Pay better attention, and keep up the good work. :P The Wikipedian (talk) 15:23, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Not sure what you're talking about; I've always been pretty careful to log in if I'm making an edit. The only times I've really edited without logging in were before I actually had an account here, or if I forgot to on occasion. ThePhonePirate (talk) 19:34, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Then who's been doing all the IP editing recently? The style seemed like yours, and I hadn't seen much activity from you, either. Hmm... I'll find out what the deal is with them, and encourage them to sign up.

By the way, I have a slight idea for using YouTube references. As you (hopefully) know by now, references can be used more than once (using the <refname="whatever"> trick simplifies it), If you want to point to different times in a video, next to the reference, just bracket the timestamp on that particular moment (e.g., [Reference][3:21]).

Also, sorry for overediting some of your work, but you do get overzealous with accents, and even contradicted yourself more than once. I mean, people have developed this habit of copying and pasting whatever we write in YouTube comments, and there are times when people, even Duncan, did pronounce a G or something else. I like to strive for accuracy, and to reflect the common standard people use in quoting victims.

One more thing: Believe it or not, Encyclopedia Dramatica, while I never wish to see you copy their writing style again regarding Chris-Chan, they actually have a pretty detailed history of the 4chan side of the madness with him, and some interesting tidbits of information leading up to Bob's death, such as that the house was ridden with pests and on the brink of being condemned. You're more than welcome to find anything worth extracting from there. As for me, I've got to track down Chris the Hacker's various exploits with Internet forums I've discovered over the years, so I can create a section dedicated to all of it. I guess that's all. The Wikipedian (talk) 20:32, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure who the anonymous editor is. Edits like that tend to make me a little nervous, anyway. Whenever someone has made an anonymous edit and I happen to see it, I always like to check and see what they wrote; most of the time it's legit, but occasionally, it's turned out to be a page vandal. But yeah, I haven't been around a lot lately; I was on the home stretch to graduating from college and was too busy with that to do a lot of editing during the last few months. Good idea about using the timestamps on the YouTube videos, I'll keep that in mind (come to think of it, I actually did do something like that with the Blue Iris article, where she made calls to Frank).

Victims' accents can be tricky to express via text. Sometimes, I don't always get it right and I am prone to the occasional typo. In many cases, I've just gone with the proper english spelling, rather than bother with accents or common prank call community spellings  (ie. "fugg kew," etc.).

As for Chris-chan and his dad, I already know about the ED article and have used it as a source before. There's also a whole wiki dedicated to him, written by many of the trolls behind the harassment, that's even more detailed. I also mentioned the fact that Bob was originally hospitalized, prior to his death of congestive heart failure, for severe insect bites all over his body; didn't realize the problem was bad enough that their house was almost condemned. However, I can't say I'm too surprised by this, since the Chandlers appear to suffer from a textbook case of compulsive hoarding, which is often an invitation for pest problems.

Good luck tracking down Chris the Hacker's forum exploits. I'm looking forward to seeing what you turn-up. (ThePhonePirate (talk) 17:56, June 19, 2013 (UTC))

We're admins, now, so if anyone's committing vandalism, just block them, and revert the edit through the history button. If they're making constructive edits anonymously, encourage them to sign up, especially since one account works for every single Wikia project other than Uncyclopedia. As for Chris the Hacker's exploits, I remember firsthand some of them, including infiltrating the Stilwell thread on Topix, where he assumed the guise of a student who transferred from Boston and was looking to do a report on Frank, and thus needed community insider info (didn't quite work in his favor, unsurprisingly). I'm pretty handy with the Internet, so I can probably get it done, and maybe transcribe another call or two. The Wikipedian (talk) 13:22, June 23, 2013 (UTC)

Please block this IP address if at all possible.

Thanks! Themanofwikia (talk) 02:42, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

I've blocked him; pretty amateurish vandalism lol. I'll just double-check to ensure all the articles he blanked have been properly reverted. Thanks for alerting us. ^_^ The Wikipedian (talk) 15:58, August 16, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, thanks a lot.

Themanofwikia (talk) 19:24, August 16, 2013 (UTC)

Please see if you can block/ heavily limit this idiot who keeps giving out the bail bondsman's personal phone numbers.

Themanofwikia (talk) 01:04, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. ThePhonePirate (talk) 02:58, August 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hey I have a quick question, I try to reference pages and I'm doing the <ref>x_x<ref> thing, yet when I publish/ preview the article, it says there's a cite error or similar. I used to be able to write references just fine, would you know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks Themanofwikia (talk) 23:24, October 16, 2013 (UTC)

Cite errors are usually caused when the second "ref" isn't closed. I noticed you typed <ref>x_x<ref>. Closing the second "ref" like this - <ref>x_x</ref> - should solve the issue. This is the pretty much standard for using HTML or Wikicode in general. A cite error may appear if you're editing within a section but as long as the article has a {{Reflist}} or <references/> it should show up in preview. Hope this helps. 03:24, October 17, 2013 (UTC)
Oh I forgot that,  thanks a ton! Themanofwikia (talk) 00:29, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

Another spammer[edit]

Weilongliukk also spammed Forum:Index and Forum:Help desk. 04:44, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

Looks like Themanofwikia already took care of it. Thanks for letting me know, though. ThePhonePirate (talk) 20:39, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Possible Page Deletion[edit]

I'm not in support of this at all, but it is (in my opinion) the right thing to do. I think deleting the Bail Bondsman's page and creating an archived version should be consisdered. Namely becasue of what happened with Frank, and the negitive implications it is more than likely having on his business.

Themanofwikia (talk) 18:28, November 2, 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I think you're probably right and we may have to do that if this keeps up. We had to do that once before with the articles about Walsh and Little India Grill. This is why it's important to censor business names, locations, and victims' real names from released calls. I wish all these copycats would just get their own victims instead of harassing those found by others to death. ThePhonePirate (talk) 06:14, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

Can I weigh in on this, being the main person in charge of the Wiki? I think rather than delete articles every single time this happens, I think we should just begin applying some degree of censorship towards victims whose personal details aren't known by absolutely everyone, so that the relevant info stays with the handful of prank callers, who can disseminate it as they please. The Wikipedian (talk) 00:48, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

SP article[edit]

I know I haven't been very active on here lately, but I have been keeping watch, to the best of my abilities. Anyhow, it was just brought to my attention a short while ago that a main admin with Wikia had deleted the article on Springfield Pervert due to a TOS violation. As Bureaucrat, I undeleted the article; however, after scanning through it, I realized we should tone the article down a little to something more encyclopedic and less vulgar, to whatever degree possible. So, only you and I can edit the article right now, and we'll need to combine to fix it up here and there. I gave the editing block two weeks' length so we can get it in solid condition, while allowing a window of time, in case the real bureaucrats feel like removing it again. I'll be active all this week and beyond. The Wikipedian (talk) 01:04, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I'm a little confused here. I just re-read the article and I don't see what they were so worked up about; there was nothing really out of line in the article itself. Maybe it was the quotes section that raised red flags with them? He does have some very obscene lines, compared to the other pages on this wiki, even Duncan. What would be your suggestions for toning it down? Sorry for the late reply, btw. I've been out of state and down with bronchitis. ThePhonePirate (talk) 19:32, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Is there any chance Mexican F*ggot can be restored? It was apparently deleted for the same reasons as Springfield Pervert. 15:31, February 5, 2014 (UTC)

Hey man! Will the Walsh's mexican post come back? also do you have any of the calls? we found 1-5, 8-10.

I have restored both pages. Have fun! ThePhonePirate (talk) 17:48, February 8, 2014 (UTC)

Vandalizing Edits[edit]

Bladez636 requested I block this IP I don't have admin powers. This guy needs to be blocked and soon. Thanks. Themanofwikia (talk) 02:29, February 21, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I was requested by a fellow user to lock the page to registered users only can edit the Satanic Racist page due to the high volume of vandalizing edits. I'm going to assume you'd be OK with this, but if not, let me know. Themanofwikia (talk) 21:25, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Hi there[edit]

Still waiting to hear back from you on my proposal for a kind of privacy policy with regards to victims. It's the best solution I could think of during my absence. I have a few other ideas, completely unrelated, too, but ya gotta reply. The Wikipedian (talk) 16:07, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

Let's begin[edit]

If you want to start writing up rules and guidelines, you can create drafts on a subpage of one of our user pages, or really any page, before creating official policy pages, by adding another slash. For example: User:ThePhonePirate/Test page. You can also lock it from being edited by anyone other than the admins (You, MoW, and I). I had long considered applying the technique for Duncanism, with a commentary subpage. Having said that, I'll return later this evening. Keep me updated. The Wikipedian (talk) 12:56, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

I think I've given you enough time to complete a list of rules and whatever else while I tied up loose ends in my personal life. Now that I'm officially ready to be a part of the team again, I'd like to know that you finalized things, or at least have it ready for me to proofread. The Wikipedian (talk) 16:14, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

Renaming Articles[edit]

Hey is there a way to rename articles without going through all the things that it tries to make you do and basically prevents you? DaeHkiD wants the page renamed to "daeHkiD", since that's the correct spelling, according to him. Thanks a lot!

Themanofwikia (talk) 00:42, May 17, 2014 (UTC)

I tried changing it, and no luck. I think it's because it's the first letter that needs changing. Wikia's naming conventions may not allow this sort of thing. The only other possibility I can think of is deleting the article and recreating it, though I can't guarantee that'd work, either. Regardless, it's not the end of the world, you know? The Wikipedian (talk) 16:10, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

EarthSnakeProduction no longer on youtube?[edit]

I saw recently that EarthSnakeProduction closed his account.  I don't know what's going on, and from what he told me, he was going to try and reupload all the calls he made including the calls to Loud Mouth Bitch and Psycho Husband.  For some reason, however, the account is closed.  What's going on?TheDamonGant (talk) 22:37, May 17, 2014 (UTC)TheDamonGant

Privacy concerns[edit]

I took an extended vacation from here due to personal matters, and now that I'm back, I expect to see more effort be taken to protect victims' privacy, wherever possible. They may be hilarious to troll, but they're still people, and not everything needs to be made public. Please, reply soon. The Wikipedian (talk) 21:24, March 24, 2015 (UTC)

Also, I had to block TheHealthGuy for destructive, pointless edits, and for essentially vandalizing my talk page when I asked him to edit more constructively. :/
